I would like to talk a little about the history of Mormonism. As a lot of people know Mormonism started with a Male at age 14 by the name of Joseph Smith Jr. He had an event occur to him that's called the "First Vision". In this event Joseph was looking for the correct church to choose from. As he was searching he found the scripture James 1:5. In this it says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, That giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." He went into an area to use put this scripture into action. As Joseph was about to pray out loud for him first time he was taken over by a devil causing him to fight against it. As Joseph was about to give up and die he saw two personages. These were Jesus Christ and God. for more info so I don't spoil it go to http://www.lds.org/scriptures/pgp/js-h/1?lang=eng. At this Mormonism began.
Joseph later was guided by the man that buried what are called golden plates, which held a history of the people here before us. They had fallen off from the truth and buried the plates. Joseph Smith was asked to translate these documents. It took him a few years, but he also had another person of Mormonism to assist Joseph, Oliver Cowdrey. They had started to transcribe the plates and Oliver's wife wanted to see what they had done so far just to be proved that he wasn't wasting time. Joseph was commanded to not let Oliver take what was currently done, but Joseph persisted in asking. Eventually God gave up and let him just for Joseph and Oliver to find that the current workings were stolen. Joseph and Oliver had to apologize greatly and was delayed being able to work due to their actions, but eventually was able to start again. God told them to not redo the first parts due to knowing that the person who stole the workings would change them and say that those were the originals and that Joseph was changing them to fit himself. With this information Joseph continued from where he was. They eventually got finished and gained believers hence beginning Mormonism to grow.
Mormonism was attacked by people in trying to prove it was false. As they were attacked they were forced to move along to different areas with still getting persisted. Finally Joseph Smith was Martyred attempting to get rid of Mormonism. Instead, Mormonism persisted with gaining a new Prophet and leader, Brigham Young. Brigham young asked those of Mormonism to travel westward to what is now Utah allowing  Mormonism to grow in a safe environment. These people were noted by the title of Pioneers. Pioneers had to face many things of natural matters such as dehydration, heat animals, and other matters. Mormonism has an event they do usually every four years called Trek that allows ages 14-18 to attend which is a re-enactment of the Pioneers' travels. The people on Trek only go so far and still have more resources if needed just to be safe. It's for an experience if you want to go on Trek, not necessary. Mormonism was attacked then and is still being attacked now. And that is the history of Mormonism.
